About the Social Media Careers handbook

Short answer
Who publishes this handbook?
The handbook is published by Influish, a company that builds Instagram tools for creators. Influish was the subject of November 2026 news coverage about a paid “doomscroller” trend-spotting role. We disclose that wherever the story is mentioned, describe it only as attributed reporting (for example Asianet Newsable’s report), and do not use the handbook to recruit for that or any other opening.
Why does it exist?
Searches for how to become a trend researcher mostly return job listings or guides written for other countries. We wanted a practical sequence, from first trend log to interview, written for Indian readers, with original exercises people can actually do.
How is it written?
- Chapters are written by the Influish Editorial Team from how these roles are commonly structured in Indian agencies, brands, publishers and public bodies.
- The skills rubric, portfolio briefs, question bank and take-home exercise are original editorial tools, labelled as such. They are not validated assessments.
- Facts from outside sources are linked in a dated Sources section on the same page, and only after we opened and checked the source.
- News about the Influish story comes only from reports verified in our shared source registry (last verified 6 November 2026).
- We never publish pay figures, vacancies, testimonials or ratings in this handbook.
How do I report an error?
Contact Influish through the details on influish.com. We check every report, correct errors promptly and update the page’s “Updated” date when content materially changes.
Where should I begin?
Start with Chapter 1: becoming a trend researcher, or return to the handbook contents.
